About
Hi. Kamusta.
My first camera was a point and shoot Kodak. Flickr was huge then, and everyone was experimenting with wacky light effects. My mother had this sculptural flower lamp with pinpoint LED lights. I tried to capture it in the dark.
I like to capture the energy and mood of a space. Foreign spaces are particularly exciting: hotels, streetscapes, new horizons. Like most millennials, I enjoy photographing steaming bowls of ramen and cocktails in coupe glasses. Lifestyle photography provides so much possibility for variety, and so many fresh challenges.
I'm a Filipina born in Atlanta, raised in LA, schooled in NYC and rooted in Baltimore. One more thing about me, I love ice cream so much I started an ice cream business. Follow me @jamiesumague.
